Internet Access & Census 2020
We have areas without internet access and the census needs to be filled out to get community wide access FOR ALL.

The Census has a Hard To Count mapping website with a number of factors. One of these is Internet Access and it drills down to the census tract level, this is something like by neighborhood as far as how large an area. (Note: Census tracts are also now used for Auto and Home Insurance rate adjustments in Michigan.)
We’ve got a problem when about 40% of our residents can’t access the internet personally. Especially when vital services request filling out forms and sending emails regularly. It simply can’t be considered a reliable way to interact within District 3. When it is depended upon the condition of “Systemic Oppression” occurs. People who have access get heard and those without are silenced and most often uninformed.
The census delivers demographic information enabling communities counted to qualify for funding parks, libraries, fire fighters, schools, and access to much more. Literally if you aren’t counted then you don’t exist, then your community is denied the ability to receive because the count just isn’t there to prove presence.
If you are approached for an interview (this ends September 30 at present) – please offer 5-10 minutes and get your information entered through the interviewer. The Census Bureau was founded with confidentiality as a requirement. You can respond ANONYMOUSLY, please work with the census worker to get the details on number of people, race, home ownership and ages gathered. That information qualifies or district for assistance! At present we’ve had areas of 30% self-return and only 1-4% answering follow up interviews.
When a census worker doesn’t find you home they will leave a Notice of Visit. This gives you a temporary 2-day Census ID to use in filling out the interview ONLINE or by telephone 📞 844-330-2020. Phone support is Sunday through Saturday 7:00am to 2:00am Eastern Time. If you are in the 40% that don’t have internet access please MAKE THE PHONE CALL.
I realize how private our lives are with “I got mine, you get yours” a common way of life. Community matters right now, and we do have the ability to be ANONYMOUS PROXY if you work with the census worker. So I’m asking you to cross that social barrier for a moment that will provide so much good for everyone in the community, even those that are choosing not to answer for themselves.
